Day Program

Engaging, person-centered activities that promote skill development, community participation, and personal growth for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our day programs for adults with disabilities provide structured environments where individuals can develop vocational skills, engage in meaningful activities, and build social connections. These disability day programs are designed to promote independence and prepare participants for competitive employment opportunities.

    Individualized programming supports each person’s unique goals and promotes personal achievement and self-confidence.
  • Vocational training and skill development
    Participants develop practical skills that increase independence and prepare them for employment opportunities.

  • Social and recreational activities
    Provides opportunities to build friendships and practice social skills in supportive environments
  • Life skills training including communication and self-advocacy
    Coaching for future success (transportation services provided).

Our Services

Vocational Skill Development

Participants engage in hands-on training activities that develop job readiness skills and explore potential career paths. Our vocational activities include:

  • Assembly and packaging tasks
  • Office skills training
  • Customer service preparation
  • Computer and technology skills
  • Food service and hospitality training
  • Retail and inventory management

Community Integration Activities

Regular community outings and volunteer opportunities help participants develop social skills and become active community members:

  • Volunteer work at local organizations
  • Shopping and errands in the community
  • Recreation and leisure activities
  • Educational trips and cultural events
  • Community service projects

Life Skills Development

Daily living skills training that promotes independence and self-sufficiency:

Eligibility & Enrollment

Our day programs serve adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are seeking structured programming to develop skills and achieve their personal goals. Individuals must be eligible for services through the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities & Hospitals (BHDDH).

Best place I have seen hands down!! They truly care for their residents as well as their staff. They make sure residents are engaged in the community by doing all different types of activities. They are treated with such love and respect. I would highly recommend Community Living of Rhode Island to a loved one or anyone adult with disabilities.
